Method 1: Online Status Check (Recommended)
This is the fastest and most detailed way to check your SASSA SRD grant status.
Step 1: Visit the Official SASSA Website
- Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- Go to the official SASSA SRD website: srd.sassa.gov.za
- Look for the "Status Check" or "Check Application Status" button
Important: Make sure you're on the official SASSA website. Beware of fake websites that may try to steal your information.
Step 2: Enter Your Details
- Enter your 13-digit South African ID number
- Enter the mobile phone number you used when applying
- Complete any CAPTCHA or security verification
- Click "Check Status" or "Submit"
Step 3: View Your Status

- Approved - Your application was successful
- Pending - Your application is being reviewed

Checking Your Status
- Send a message saying "Hi" or "Status"
- The automated system will respond with options

Method 3: USSD Code (Mobile)
You can check your status using a USSD code directly from your phone.
How to Use
- Dial *134*7737# from the mobile number you used to apply
- Select the option for "Status Check"
